Transformation support
The Health Sector Transformation Plan (HSTP) is an integral part of the National Transformation Program (NTP), aligned with the Saudi Vision 2030. The plan focuses on enhancing healthcare quality in the Kingdom by addressing challenges through institutional capacity building. The Transformation Unit plays a key role in coordinating and facilitating this process. It collaborates with various departments, both internal and external, to manage tasks related to agreements, infection control, and transformation planning. The unit conducts meetings with the transformation team at the General Directorate of Infection Prevention and Control (GDIPC) to distribute tasks, prepares assessment models for infection control programs, evaluates regional performance, analyzes data to identify weaknesses, and collaborates with regions to devise improvement plans. The unit ensures ongoing follow-up on agreements and implementation, working towards a successful execution of a complete transformation process in IPC. The STaRs program (Support the Transformation among RHDs) starts in 2024. It aims to ensure that all IPC RHDs in the kingdom are fully capable of independently leading and executing their roles according to the transformation. The vision of the program is to be a leading force in transforming IPC practices nationwide and to create a healthcare setting where every facility demonstrates commitment to infection prevention measures.
