Healthcare-Associated Infections (HAIs) Surveillance Department

The program aims to implement the national health electronic surveillance system (HESN) for healthcare-associated infections (device-associated and non-device-associated infections), infections associated with surgical procedures, and outpatient dialysis treatment according to national and international protocols. General supervision on the implementation of the surveillance system for healthcare-associated infections through linking the healthcare facilities with the national health electronic surveillance network and measuring their compliance with the prevention bundle to minimize them. In addition to regularly updating the guidelines and protocols for the surveillance process and regularly releasing the reports to allow the regions and hospitals to improve the quality of work and decrease infection rates. The program includes the necessary research and studies based on the available surveillance data and supervises the participating hospitals' training and education by the General Directorate and the regions.
